 Just bee-cause I wanted to do a sketch -

This sketch:

Found here: MFT sketch #502

My card:

I turned the sketch on its side to accomplish my mission.

I used a MFT stamp set - Meant to Be.

The images were cut out and layered, colored with pencils, and Nuvo shimmer glitter put on the bees wings.

That's it......Thanks for looking in....

For the last day of  MFT Summer School found here: Day 5 Summer School

The lesson is about "white space", meaning leaving the design open and free from embellishment, which puts the focus on the main image.

I usually put a lot of time into making just one card. Open space cards are not easy for me, but I did make two:

These are very basic with a simple flower, sentiment, and scored lines on two sides. I really need to learn to make more of these clean and simple cards......... Thanks for looking in....Patty

I practiced ombre shading today, because of Summer School Day 4 found here: MFT Summer School

I found that it takes a lot of practice to get it right -

I blended 3 hues each of distress inks in blues and greens. After a few hours and tossing many bloopers into the trash, I finally settled on this background. I used Harvest Mouse from My Favorite Things which was colored with pencils. A tree die completed my little scene. The main panel was layered onto a dark blue panel and then white. The sentiment was heat embossed with an ivory powder. Thanks for looking in.....Patty

Today I watched the video of Day 3 of  MFT Summer School found here: My Favorite Things School #3
The lesson is symmetry - meaning the right and the left side of a design mirror each other.
It sure makes for a quick and easy card.

I used a Penny Black sentiment stamp which was heat embossed in hunter green on white c/s. Outlined using a Spellbinders hemstitch die, and layered on a hunter green card. Looks almost black in the pic. Bummer. Also used a gold glitter cardstock for the layering and the star. Yay, another Christmas card done! I wasn't sure that I would like this design, but now I will have to give it some more thought. Thanks for looking in....

Summer School again, here at - My Favorite Things Summer School Day 2

Today is about using colors of the RAINBOW for a happy occasion card.

SO, of course a fairy house should be colorful:

This image was colored with copics and the colors are purple (looks more blue in the pic), yellow, orange, red, and green. The sun and cloud dies are placed like the visual triangle I learned yesterday. :^)
The crystal effects on the mushrooms and the glitter on the flowers don't show up well in the pic either. Bummer. Thanks for looking in.

Learning is fun!
Yesterday I saw this post: My Favorite Things Summer School Day 1
The lesson was all about the Visual Triangle.
I was busy at the time, but today I watched the instructional video and I was inspired to put together this card -

I already had the flowers watercolored, so the design went together easily. I never thought about it before, but my eyes really are drawn to the three flowers in the corner ( visual triangle). The flowers were white heat embossed and colored in coral, pink, and light green inks and layered onto vanilla cardstock. The ribbon is a vanilla seam binding.
Thanks for looking in....
